Good tests for when you drop your bike stationary, low speeds or if you stall on a U-turn maybe .
At higher speed however that protection goes against you because it grips bumps in the road and then flips your bike.
With that said I still have crash bars , I'd rather have them for the low speed spills .

Anybody spot the broken mirror arm when he dropped it on the concrete?

Edit post:
Just watched it frame by frame and it wasn’t a mirror arm I saw,it was a low stand for a video camera. For a real test he should have left the mirrors on ????????

While I doubt Suzuki would have done that to test theirs it all reminds me of the Tommy Cooper joke about his watch: shock proof, water proof, anti-magnetic . Caught fire!

Or Brocket "the golf ball you couldn't lose"    A bloke says to his mate "look at this golf ball.. you can't lose it!!"  "how come"  "well if it doesn't move for five minutes it starts to bleep, low at first then louder and louder"   "wow, sounds good"..   " yeah but better still after seven minutes it glows orange and as time goes by it gets brighter and brighter"  " bloody hell that is clever"   "even better after twelve minutes it levitates up into  the air to two feet!!! still bleeping and glowing"   "god that's amazing where did you get it ???"     " I found it on the 6th fairway"""

@Joe Rocket don't know what they cost, just thinking of the saved damage to the bike, I had crash bobbins on all my bikes including my latest one just in case. :thumb:

A mate of mine made some crash bars for the Kwak 1400GTR (which he sold via a kwak forum) and did a drop test video of him dropping his own bike. It made me wince because he did it several times and I know how much he loved that bike.
They are great for low speed spills - lets face it, if you drop your bike like I did while pushing it backwards, it can save the plastics and the exhaust from damage. If you fall off at speed the bike may be slightly less damaged but it's more than likely going to be buggered with or without crash bars.

 must have been strong bars that can withstand the weight of a GTR .
I had to lay my GTR down on a failed U-turn a while back which slightly marked my right panel .
I've since purchased these R&G Bars to stop it happening again .
Was your mates bars similar to these ?

GTR Drop test. He doesn't manufacture them anymore so don't click on any links you may find.
This is my mate, dropping his own GTR. Very brave man.

and it was his pride and joy.
Maybe the real reason he sold it was due to impending tyre pressure gauge batteries going flat...
