Photobucket Fix
« on: November 09, 2017, 21:16:22 »
If you see any "PLEASE UPDATE YOUR ACCOUNT TO ENABLE 3RD PARTY HOSTING" from photobucket, try this:

copied from another forum seems to work

I all, just read this on another forum and wanted to share it here as pictures are so important to sharing info about our hobby. I just copied the post so here it is and it seems to work with firefox for me.
Fix for seeing Photobucket pics

Postby yavapaigunworks ยป Tue Oct 10, 2017 11:13 pm
If you're using Google Chrome, go to the three dots on the right side of the screen and click them. A drop down should appear. Hover your mouse over "More Tools," and when the next drop down appears, click on extensions. Go to the link towards the bottom that says "Get more extensions." In the search box, type "Photobucket Fix," and hit enter. Click the install button and once it's done, you should be able to see photobucket pictures again.

For FireFox users, click on the three bars on the right side of the screen, then click on add ons. Click search for "photobucket hotlink" and click install. Same result.

I'm glad to see this. Unfortunately, many of the account holders are deleting the pictures or closing their accounts. No fix will help with those situations.

Yep, I have switched to a different account myself but I haven't deleted the old photobucket photo's as I thought they might change their minds over the charges.

I've just found another Fotobucket Fix on another forum.

Apparently if you append "~original" to the end of your link, blocked photos will magically reappear.
I know it's now possible to upload photos direct to this forum but the above fix should also work for any old historical photobucket stuff which people have posted, and can be bothered editing the links...

eg:
http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/qq273/royzx7r/DL650005.jpg becomes:
http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/qq273/royzx7r/DL650005.jpg~original

It works - I just modified an older photo on here and it has reappeared.

Not sure we have an option for a "Global Search/Replace" to change them all though.

I will have a look to see if the change can be made at the database level.

It looks like it should be possible to write a script to make the change globally. Give me a few days.

Errrrrrrr.... that would have been great, but don't spend too much time doing this because Photobucket seem to have just become wind of the loophole and I understand they've now plugged it   :angry-banghead:

I had to modify your image, you had all kinds of weirdness going on including URL tags

Very strange Fat Rat, I didn't put up the  'Good Post' emoticons and there is a delay sometimes to register my typing. Could be here of course.

Picture worked though!  :thumb:
