They'll be fine wurzel :D

Mr Nick, I need something to go where the tank used to be, I was thinking of either vacuum forming something over the MDF, fibreglassing over it or 3D printing something. I've also seen 3D printed levers.

The machines fascinate me, how they can print their own upgrade parts.

I've modelled the bolt pattern in Autodesk to get a 70t sprocket made up

Looking good!
It really gives me great pleasure to see a bit of metal from the engineers scrap bin, where I get their offcuts for nowt, getting used rather than melted down...I'm now an official stromwomble! :happydance: lol

When I make stuff from scrap I'm a tight f*cker apparently.
To be happy, I don't need private helicopters,a Florida house or a yacht. I'm fine with my motorcycle,a trip to a forest in Bavaria and some lunch money.

My initial motor mount is made out of scrap while I get the location right. Hopefully once you've had a go TLP you'll change your mind about electric powered bikes :D

Shall I bring my own lollypop sticks to catch the spokes so it sounds proper? If it's as unstable as that bleedin' electric skateboard I'll not be bothering thank you all the same....

TLP, I was made to dismantle the skateboard. This toy is for grown ups.
Ridaz, you are welcome to, it could do with someone riding it, I've not had chance since January.

Now that's an offer but sadly I can't take you up on it yet... Maybe later in year though but you will be stuck with an Africa twin  :smirk:

**Hijack Alert!!**

Interesting project. How do you control the speed with a normal twistgrip? By which I mean, my glee throttle controls the rev range from idle to redline,  and the gears transfer that up the speed range. So my speed range is 6x throttle movement. Your motor is direct drive, I take it, so the entire speed range will be taken up with one fistful of "throttle", effectively making it 1/6th as "responsive" as mine. Are you programming in ramps for steady take up and a "full bore" setting at top end? Intrigued.

A fistfull will result in 200 amps to the motor. I'm going to put a limit switch on it. I might eventually hook up a clutch lever that will tone it down the more it's pulled in. You are welcome to give it a go when it's usable. I'll be playing around with the ramp up along with all the other parameters

I've now got the motor mounted and it's lively. I'll get a video when I've tweaked the alignment, the chain comes off some times at the moment.
