Ooh! Southport - that brings back memories. As a snotty-nosed kid (and being paupers) my annual holiday was a week at great aunt Ethel's house in Southport. I remember being given sixpence (yep - I am that old) and sent off to the pleasure beach and told not to get lost. I lost count of the number of toy boats I had sunk in the boating pond.
