Touring screen swap?
« on: June 05, 2016, 21:27:19 »
So it appears my strom has a touring screen of some kind fitted to it.... but the buffeting... no... eyeball rattling vibration  that comes through my helmet from the screen is absolutely bloody awful!

Is there anyone local to oldham who might have a standard screen available to try out?

I think I'd prefer to just sit in the direct wind stream above a standard screen instead of in the turbulence from the current screen! ????

I'm in Oldham but my standard screen has been modded with an RGA adjustable flip up, so isn't going to give a fair comparison. I also have a calsci screen which is good but it interferes with the knuckle guards at full lock. Any chance of a pic of your current screen?

Edit: I've just seen your intro post. You have the early model bike. My screen won't fit yours...sorry.

I think if you want clean air only to be hitting your helmet your going to need no screen or just a very low profile one. The standard screen is still tall enough to direct turbulent air straight at your noodle. :violence-smack: (that's suppose to be turbulence )

I do have a cut down screen for an early bike, if you want to give that a whirl...?

That would be great! I need to try something before I drop £45 or so on a spoiler to put on my own screen, I am off work Friday to collect or meet somewhere if that's any good to you?

I'll be finished at the gym for about 2pm on Friday. Where abouts in Oldham are you...roughly speaking.

South side then. I'm over towards Saddleworth. How does 14:30 at the car park next to Sainsbury's petrol station suit on Friday?

The oldham sainsburys where the parking is right next to the petrol station under neath the main car park?

Should be fine, I have to pick up my boy from school not long after but yeah that's great, do you require some financial renumeration for your time?

The very place. I'll see you there then. Thanks for the offer mate, but we're one big happy family on here. If the screen works for you, it's yours for nowt. :)

Mega shout out to tallpaul the mra screen with the flip removed is night and day better than the screen that was on it,

The turbulence is now just below shoulder level and out of my face

Thanks again!
