Don't put yourself down. That horn connection is a pain to get to.  :)

Started in November (weekends only and not every weekend as it was a bit cold to be out in the garage some days). Had everything off the bike with the exception of the engine, which I left in place.

I have had the Sharealike clutch mod and changed all the valve shims though. New chain and sprockets, bearings, brake piston and clutch slave seals, all fluids etc.

Just want it to be reliable and I don't have any service history with it so seemed right to check pretty much everything over. Not overly bothered by cosmetics as I bought the bike to use, but I want it to be mechanically sound.

Went down Robinsons Foundry yesterday and happened across a nice tank pad. :thumb:

Finally finished up the pre- season servicing and upgrades.
Jobs completed: oil, oil filter, goodridge hoses all round including clutch line, brake pads cleaned and copper slipped. Power commander, servo and o2 sensor eliminators. New Road 5 Tyres, and loads of other bits. Surprisingly had to spend bloody ages to fit the new k&n filter until I was happy with the fit. In the end, I cut up the stock airfilter surround and modified it so the new k&n filter sat snug in the air box with no gaps to ensure a good seal... seems a stupid design and the part number checked out OK.... can't believe this is normal?

Nice run out on the smaller roads to Northants. Just me and a friend on his Triumph Explorer. Can recommend the Olde Three Cocks PH at Brigstock near Corby.
Despite having their kitchen closed for the day for emergency building work one of the owners left the works and cleaned himself up to cook us lunch as they had forgotten I had rung to check they were open last week. He remembered when I said we had ridden over from Norfolk and insisted we stay. Glad we did as the food was lovely and very reasonably priced.
Lovely sunny but not too hot day with just a bit of bother from high side winds in places crossing the Fens. 240 miles round trip and my Glee reminding me why I don’t need anything bigger or ‘better’.

Went for a short ride in the morning to J&S Accessories.
The set to work:
-Fitted a Bigpie Fusebox (great, thanks Bigpie)
-Connected up some (3) usb charging points to the new fusebox
-Fitted some Oxford heated Grips
-Fitted OEM handguards.[/li][/list]
Just got to fit the Heated Grips controller onto the painted (now drying) bracket

Removed the tank to clean the air filter box - the sponge under there was disgusting, and the box under it looked like the bike has some nasal infection   :-x

I also tried to trace a wiring problem for my fog lights. Really weird. Two separate wiring harnesses, one for fog lights one for LED lights. Moving one of the wires blows a fuse and dims the other set, but one of them is wired to my bigpie fuse box, the other to a separate fuse box

Finished cleaning the exhaust, fitted the new battery, balance the throttle bodies, tried to set the TPS  :dl_hyperhysteria: and drained the oil ready for new oil and filter tomorrow.

Well, I dropped down to my dealer, signed the papers and brought my new 2016 home. It was pouring down with rain so 100kms later it is one mucky new bike  :). Despite that I enjoyed the spin.

Renewed the brake fluid front and rear.Really easy, longest job was moving the right hand rear panel covering the rear fluid reservoir. All done in about an hour which included a mug of tea.
