Genuine alloy skid plate for a wee.
« on: August 11, 2017, 12:03:00 »
Hello all, another silly question. Will the genuine alloy skid plate listed for 2006-09 fit my k5? And is 80 good for new without fittings though.
 Cheers

You will not get the fittings.
The skid plate only comes as a kit with the mounting brackets and bolts.
You can't buy the mounts separately.

Do you know what the fittings consist of?

There is a longer lower engine mount bolt (goes from one side of the bike through to the other and can be replaced with M10 threaded bar as I did) with a spacer on the rhs.

You will need engine bars as they secure to them at the front with longer bolts.

The main part though is a mounting bracket at the rear end of the guard. These don't come as a separate part to be bought.

Fair enough, I have the engine bars so part way there. I've been doing some research and found the fitting instructions for the second motech one that lists the bolts and spacers I'll need plus give me a thought idea what the bracket should look like. I'm going to try and fabricate the bracket. So hopefully I haven't made too Bigger mistake buying it.

If I get the pc to work I'll have a look at the pictures of the one I sold a couple of years ago.
