Best way to wire in extra lights...

That's brilliant I will change them then,  I still have to fit my hot grips I haven't had time yet, with the lights they go in to the strobe flashing first so I have ordered a switch I hope that will cure it.

There are mods to remove the low and strobe 'features' either by shorting a couple of pins on a IC or removing it completely.

Yep, mine work fine on just one take off point. Its a 2A fuse I've got in it. No probs yet!

I read about soldering pins together to remove all modes other than hi but my knowledge isn't enough to do it. Its no hassle for me to switch the handlebar switch on and off twice when I stop the bike so when next time I switch it on it comes on in hi mode.

Hi big lad and hi big pie, as I said I have ordered a switch so hopefully I can stop the strobing ( well not stop it but control it) big pie as I have the lights already wired in to your fuse board ( which is a brilliant bit of kit  I might add ) could you please advise me the best way to wire in the switch ? And big lad I will wire in the hot grips this week many thanks.

Heres how I did my wiring..

Negative from the fuse box to both negatives of the lights. I twisted all 3 wires together and soldered them.

Positive from the fuse box to one wire from the switch.

Positives from both lights to the other wire from the switch.

I had a set of these given to me as my brother bought them and 2 lots turned up.  I fitted them to the engine bars some shape as the total lack of adjustment made it awkward to focus them..  Then after a few rides out I removed them as they were a pain because they would go out of sink,  one would be hi beam and one flashing then one lo beam and one flashing and so on.  Bit of a potch you can do without before setting off.  Also they were falling apart and the supposed stainless Allen key bolts rusted!   Whilst I will agree that oem stuff is a total rip off, the saying you get what you pay for Is right in this case..

Hi Bazza I haven't given mine a proper test yet,it is a pain having to go through the strobing thou, as you said you get what you pay for, I will see how they go if they fall to bits I haven't lost a lot of money that's the way I see it many thanks

One question about all this, does it matter what size wire you use, when wiring them up.

I have used 8 amp wire.

Hi mr king the wire I used was quite thin (sorry not sure of the amps) it matched both the wire that came with the gree lights and the switch.

Lights plus relay and inline fuse with a handlebar switch I've got the givi s310 mounted to crash bars straight to battery

Ditto Arran fitted givi lights yesterday excellent quality and they look smart , connected the green switch wire to the rear brake connector for an ignition feed

Sorry to bring back a dead post but I’ve bought some of these lights and the you doe bar switch has 3 wires not two. How do I wire them from the aux fuse box please
