Hello everyone. My real name is Mike Holgate and I have just bought a 2002 V-Strom 1000. Condition OK apart from rust on the two main steel bits I.e. the engine bars and the rear subframe. Only surface rust but needs sorting. Vendor suggested Hammerite but would like to hear from anyone who has had same problem as to what a good once-and-for-all cure would be. Also, if there are any other members in Lakes, Furness, North Lancs etc., I would be very pleased to hear from you.

Hi and  :welcome:  to the forum. Powder coating for the engine bars, the subframe will take a bit more to strip down however...
It's pronounced 'twenty-one-twelve'
