Anyone tried Richa winter gloves
« on: November 04, 2017, 15:54:20 »
Decided to stop wasting money on cheap winter gloves and buy something that actually works.
Having read a few reviews I am looking at either the Richa Arctic or Richa Cold Protect, anyone any experience with them please?

Not really an answer to your question, but have you tried Oxford heated grips, they are very very good. I have these ones on my V Strom and can't fault them.

Fed up with anti motorcycle legislation ??.

Thanks Lincsman but already have them fitted, I find they keep my palms warm but not my fingers.
Problem is I commute in heavy traffic so fingers are pretty much always on brake and clutch levers.
I usually put my muffs on for winter but it gets tricky wiping the visor while filtering.

No experience with the mentioned gloves but in my opinion unless you have hand guards  / muffs to protect your hands from the wind chill with heated grips there is nothing out there that will keep your hands totally warm.

Cheers Kwackboy. I take the hand guards off to fit the muffs.

The Visordown review looks good but as we know everyone is different, and my circulation doesn't help :old:

I have kies heated inner gloves they heat up your fingers not your palms. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwi47YqAyqXXAhXIu-0KHS6iDUIYABAuGgJkZw&ohost=www.google.co.uk&cid=CAESEeD2hKQjk0U3JC2lpQTrLTRO&sig=AOD64_18If97uG3JGmpQvv7ke9-dVPs3Ug&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwi2goWAyqXXAhUIOsAKHReZDfYQ9aACCLQB&adurl=

Thanks Graham62. Worth thinking about. I have some battery powered gloves I bought a good few years ago which were good but the switches broke, then the wiring to the heating elements, so stopped fixing them.

By far the best muffs on the market, tucano urbano neoprene muffs . Totally waterproof and draft free . These and a good set of heated grips would enable you to wear a thinner glove that will let the heat through to your fingertips.

I find my Richa gloves, OEM hand guards & Dr Bike heated grips are a great combination. I've tried Keis inner gloves but found them too restrictive under gloves & they gave me a heat blister on a long ride.

I've also found the only time my hands get cold now is when my core temperature drops. My Keis heated jacket & thermal lining in the trousers ensure that doesn't happen (I only started using the trousers liners last year & they make a huge difference when it's really cold)  :thumb:

This is my current setup which is nice and warm, just gets a bit tricky when it's raining and you have to wipe your visor when filtering.

Cheers UK_Vstrom650, think I'll treat myself to the Richa Cold Protect, if all else fails I'll put the muffs back on.

Just to add to this, I left Leeds yesterday with the Glee showing 3c & the ice warning light on, rode to Liverpool (c. 2hrs) and didn't have to turn the heated grips on. I did have my heated jacket on medium heat though (turned it off once I got to the ring road in Liverpool as was too hot at lower speeds as was 11c)

I have Richa Cold Protect myself, and definitely rate them.
As it happens, I've just added a pair of the Oxford Premium heated grips too, and am loving those too.  (I have OEM hand guards.)

For what it's worth, there was a recent thread on bikechatforum about winter gloves and a lot of folk were recommending these gloves too  :thumb:

I have Richa Arctic since last year, I find them great and don't need to use the heated grips unless it's very cold.

I guess it must be my poor circulation, hands were frozen again yesterday morning so last night I refitted my muffs

Also found the Suzuki beak warmer that came with the bike

I also must have poor circulation hence the heated jacket... I wouldn't be without one now.

This will help keep the beak warm  :stirpot:  lol

I've got the Richa Cold Protect GTX (Goretex) and on this mornings ride lowest temp indicated was - 2c after 50mins the tips of my fingers were getting a bit cold. I don't use heated grips or have hand guards at the moment. Last year I wore a pair of merino inner gloves as well and this worked fine - though obviously one has less "feel" on the handlebar with those layers...

Cheers Phil
