Hello. I present my orange arrow which is Kawasaki KLV1000 (rebranded Suzuki DL1000 K4).

Yep, a rebadged vee and if memory serves doesn't the vin plate state "Suzuki motor" or similar too?

Good to see another KLV mate. Yours looks a bit tidier than mine. Mine's an 05, about 26000 miles (iirc), done 5 tours of Scotland and 1 Europe (Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Austria, Italy), and the only problem I had was the rear brake hose burst 3 days into one of the 7 day Scotland trips (no biggy, rarely use it anyway). I love the rarity of them, only saw another 3 on the roads since I bought mine in late 2013.

Today I installed mirror extenders and deflector on the Windscreen . I'm very curious if it will help with wind buffeting. Definitely extenders helped with view in mirrors, it's now almost panoramic

Kebabmonster what end cans do you have in yours? I have scorpions and I love them

I've got the MTC cans on mine. Those plus a Power Commander transformed the bike when I first got it. The Scorpions on yours look smart.

As for buffeting, I changed the awful looking stock mirrors for the Aprilia ones, didn't help. So I bought a dark Moose Racing screen which was 4 inches shorter than than the standard one. Buffeting gone. However, I had to mount my SJ4000 to the front of the screen with it being black, and it vibrated too much to get any decent footage.

Took the huge smoked touring screen that was on the bike when I bought it, masking taped it up, drew round the Moose Racing one, and cut it with a jigsaw. Bit of fine wet and dry on the cut edge, and fitted that instead. Mounted the camera above the clocks and it was better. Only gripe was with it being smoked, footage always looked like it was overcast, even when it was sunny.

Bought a well sctrached original Kawasaki clear screen off eBay. Got most of the scratches out using toothpaste then Brasso, then out with the jigsaw again. Decided to cut it an inch longer than the Moose Racing one. Put it on the bike, went for a ride, it was horrible. Head was being battered from the buffeting. Out with the jigsaw again, cut the extra inch off, buffeting gone.

So that's where I'm at with buffeting on mine. I know people rave about touring screens with extenders etc, but I hate looking through a screen anyway, (coming from a sports bike, I prefer to look over them) so cutting mine was never an issue. Remove your screen altogether and go for a run, depending on your height, you may get a surprise that the wind no longer hits your head, then get the jigsaw out.

Agree about looking over rather than through, but then I haven't got one of these.......nor would I want one. I have a deflector which works, but still look over the top of it.

I fitted a flip up deflector from an MRA screen to my stock screen. That worked a treat for me. The problem with buffeting is that everyone is different and is affected in different ways. Kebabmonster's trial and test method is a well travelled road for many...

I did put Windscreen deflector from ebay and after fitting it, I did fit mirror extenders as well. For now most of buffetting is gone, even with standard mirrors. And I can still look over deflector. Riding about 70 to 80 mph is quite OK now so I will leave it as it is. And today I fitted modified clutch basket, so no more clutch chudder

Still a bit of vibration there but it is a V-twin so it is never going to be perfect. Anyway, it is muuuch better now.

Spme upgades are going on. Recently fitted new clutch basket from sharealike, massive improvement. Now I bought GI PRO G2 with a TRE gear indicator and cosmo fork brace. I hope it will help on the wobbly feeling on wheel rut's etc.
